An easy bulb to grow and an absolute delight to see in bloom. Large, blood red, orchid like blooms in the early summer (although they can flower at random times of the year).
Best planted in the full sun or part shade, Sprekelia, once established will generally look after themselves. Leave the neck of the bulb just sticking out of the ground, and select a well drained position...and away you go.
