By far the most elegant of all the Gloriosa family. A climbing tuber suited to warm (but sheltered positions). Winter dormant, tubers should be kept warm and dry indoors until the risk of frost has passed.
Plant in a semi shaded position to avoid leaf scorch from the hot summers sun. The tuber is ready to plant when the growth tip has turned pink and swelled. Gloriosa can successfully be grown in a pot, but remember it is a climber and as such needs to have some support. When planting ensure the mix is well drained.
Plant the tuber horizontally no more than 5cm under the surface. Feed at planting with an all round bulb fertiliser, avoid manures.
